How to submit your Objection to the portal

BEFORE you click Object Now, we strongly advise you have your objection already composed in a separate document, which you can choose to then either Copy and Paste into an objection box on the site, or upload as a separate document on the site. We suggest opening a blank document, such as Word or a notes app, and then writing your objection. You may choose to copy and paste some of the arguments above to use them, or you can download the arguments and edit them as appropriate by clicking on the download link to the right. If you are taking some time to write your objection, remember to save the document as you go!

Once you have your objection in a separate file, then you are ready to click Object Now.

Read on for a written walkthrough of the process, or jump to our visual guide at the end of the page.!

Written Walkthrough

After clicking the Object Now button...

  • On the first screen, click the 'Make Representation' button on the top right of the page.

  • The next page is just information about the Appeal, including the name of the applicant MENDOZA LIMITED. Click 'Save and Continue'.

  • The next page is for 'Your Details'. For the question 'In what capacity do you wish to make representations' you should choose 'Interest Party / Person' (unless you are an Agent or Landowner!). Then provide you name and email address. You will also need to enter your address [see privacy note below]. Click Save and Continue.

  • The next page is 'Representation'. You will be asked 'Are you acting on behalf of a company, group or organisation?'. Answer Yes if you are representing a local group or business. You may wish to answer yes if you are writing in on behalf of more than one person, for instance 'The Wilson family'. Otherwise answer 'No'.

  • At this point you can now add your actual objection. Hopefully you have your objection ready to go in a seperate document as we suggested. If so then under the 'My comments are set out in:' question you can choose either 'the box below' and copy and paste your objection into the box that appears, or you can select 'separate documents' and then click 'browse' to find the seperate file saved on your local device. Click Save and Continue.

  • The final page is the Submit page. Read the privacy information and then click the box to confirm you have read the above. Click Submit.

And that's it, thank you for objecting and helping stop the White Swan becoming just another retail unit!
