Appeal Objection

Mendoza Limited, also referred to as 'the applicant', have appealed to the Planning Inspectorate to approve their application to turn the White Swan into a retail unit with flats on newly built floors above. The deadline for objections to this appeal is Tuesday 13th February.

We are asking the supporters of the White Swan to object to this appeal. However, it isn't a simple process, and can be confusing for those of us who haven't done this sort of thing before.

What makes a good objection?

Put simply, we want objections to be personal, and passionate. But... the Planning Inspectorate will only consider your objection if it is considered a "material consideration".

Below are four broad themes that we believe would count as 'material considerations'. With each theme we have included arguments that could be used in your objection. Obviously we encourage people to use their own words wherever possible, but you may want to read the arguments under each theme, and then use any that resonate with you, and of course feel free to add or change the words as much as you wish to make it more personal. There is no need to refer to 'material considerations' or themes in your objection, it is the arguments used that will make a difference.

After the themes, there is an 'Object Now' button that will take you to the Planning Inspectorate portal, where you can lodge your objection.
